The moment we’ve all been waiting for…… The New Barn!!!!

The finishing touches are still missing but at least now you can see the dream. Theres a cupola that needs to go up on the roof and the concrete floor needs to be poured.

I love it, we have lots of landscaping ahead of us. We plan to put up fences and gates and of course the stalls. We went to talk to a horse expert the other day. We had lots of question about horses. On the one hand we want a couple, on the other, we know nothing about horses and we need to know what we’d be getting into. After talking with her we learned how much pasture would be optimum, we learned how much they drink and eat. We learned enough to know they might not be for us at this time. Did you know a horse drinks 22 gallons of water a day? And the big thing that surprises me was that they don’t just eat the grass they rip it out of the ground. Lots to think about, I might just have to stick to the cute miniature horses. I think we might try real horses after we get the land a bit more tamed.

Hi down there. Ever heard of getting the horse before the cart? You got it backwards, which is a good thing this time, I guess. The barn looks great and a perfect view from your front porch. Your flying pics were wonderful. Hope you got a little rain from the recent storm on the coast. Bye now, Love Mom

Happily wandered into your blog with all your home improvement projects and new barn! How wonderful for you!! It all looks great and if you DO decide on horses, please give me a shout. We’ve got 2, maybe 2 more on the way relatively soon, and I’d be happy to give you some things to think about. Enjoy!
